Yuma County Jail and Sheriff

For a local jail release, start with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office or the jail. Call with a specific name, date of birth if known, booking date or date range, arresting agency, and case number if known. If the office cannot answer by phone, ask which custodian handles booking and release records and what written request format is required.

Court and Probation Contacts

The Yuma County Courthouse is the key contact when the question is why someone left jail. Court records may show bond posted, release order, dismissal, sentence, probation, mittimus to CDOC, warrant status, or sentence completion.

CORA and Records Requests

Yuma County says public-record requests must be written, directed to the proper custodian, and specific about the records and dates requested. The county administrator is the contact for obtaining the public-records request form: 310 Ash Street, Suite A, Wray, CO 80758, phone 970-332-5796 ext. 221.

The county publishes a normal production period of three working days after deposit timing begins, with an extension generally not longer than seven working days when extenuating circumstances exist. Standard pages are 25 cents, research or retrieval may be charged at actual cost up to $41.37 per hour, and the custodian may require an estimate and deposit before retrieval.
